We're reimagining Stephen Avenue, from City Hall to Mewata Armoury. Extensive engagement has guided the development of the public realm study, focusing on urban design, economics, planning policy and mobility.

The CDA supports transportation infrastructure that improves mobility choices for Calgarians and brings riders to the downtown core, but we also have questions and concerns. We’re actively ensuring the quality of Downtown life is enhanced, not hindered, by the new line.

The Calgary Downtown Association appreciates City Council’s decision to defer consideration of changes to Calgary’s Free Fare Zone until Q1 of 2027, maintain the Zone in the interim, and to undertake further downtown engagement, and explore potential sponsorship opportunities.
